Return to Martial Arts Training

Six-week beginner Aikido program for adults

Always Wanted to Start—or Start Again?

Return to Martial Arts Training is a structured six-week Aikido program for adults who want to begin—or begin again—with serious, sustainable martial-arts training.

Train like an adult who knows better—not like the kid you once were. Bring your experience, judgment, and discipline to the mat—and build real skill through serious practice.

Classes are small, focused, and technical, with plenty of partner work, repetition, and individual instruction. The goal is to develop the balance, timing, structure, and awareness that make Aikido effective.

This program is for former martial artists ready to return, and for adults who have always wanted to train seriously but never found the right time or the right school.

Serious training. Cooperative practice. No competition. No posturing.

  • Mondays & Thursdays, 6:00–7:00 PM

  • 12 guided classes

  • Limited to 10 participants

What You’ll Learn

Over the six weeks, you’ll work through the core elements of Aikido practice, including:

  • Developing balance, posture, timing, and efficient movement

  • Learning how Aikido uses distance, structure, leverage, and connection

  • Practicing fundamental Aikido techniques with a partner

  • Learning how to fall, receive techniques, and recover safely

  • Building the coordination and confidence needed for serious, regular training

Classes emphasize focused repetition, technical precision, and steady progression so that the movements begin to feel natural and the principles behind them become clear.

"Cooper Sensei is professional and patient. I know he has adapted the training to my skill set and physical abilities."

No prior Aikido experience is required. You do not need to be especially flexible, athletic, or in peak condition. Come ready to learn, train consistently and seriously with partners, and begin building the habits and skills of a martial artist. The rest will follow.

This program is designed for:

  • Adults returning to martial arts after years away

  • Former martial artists who miss the discipline, challenge, and satisfaction of serious training

  • Adults who have always wanted to study a traditional martial art and are finally ready to begin

  • People who value clear instruction, technical depth, and steady progression

  • Anyone looking for training that is challenging, skillful, and sustainable
